This was Kohli’s 27th Test century in the longest format of the game and he crashed a flurry of records during the course of his innings. The veteran scored his 20th Test ton as captain which are second-most by a skipper after Graeme Smith’s 25 hundreds. He also scored his 41st ton as captain in international cricket which are joint-most for anyone alongside Ricky Ponting. Also, he became the fastest captain to complete 5000 Test runs.
Along with breaking records, Virat Kohli’s knock has put India on the driver’s seat. The home side have already extended their lead over 200 runs. India still have four wickets in the bank and will now look to put their foot on the paddle. They must be eyeing to get at least a 300-run lead before calling a declaration. Kohli might also seek to invite Bangladesh to bat in the evening session and get few wickets.
