India is currently in England for the five-match test series. They are currently playing the practice match against Essex ahead of the test matches which will begin on August 1, 2018. India is currently playing the three-day practice match with Essex at Chelmsford. They had an unexpected guest who came to meet the team. It was none other than Vijay Mallya RCB former boss who turned up to meet the team.
Vijay Mallya is currently in the UK and recently had sent feelers to come back to India. The 62-year-old was accused of fraud and money laundering in India. The official handle of the Indian team shared the picture with Mallya. The caption of the snap read, “They all love him here #KingKohli.”
Talking about the practice match, India won the toss and elected to bat. Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara got out early. Five batsmen from the Indian side got a half-century. M Vijay made 53, captain Virat Kohli scored 62. Whereas KL Rahul and Dinesh Karthik made 58 and 82 respectively. India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya chipped in with 51 runs. The guests got all out on 395 runs. Essex, on the other hand, is batting on the score of 22/1. Umesh Yadav snapped the wicket of Nick Browne on 11.
The practice match was supposed to last for four days but due to bad pitch, the contest was cut short to three days. But, Indian coach, Ravi Shashti dismissed the reports. While addressing the press said, “It was decided yesterday (during practice). We had a chat (with Essex authorities) and once they explained how they had sold tickets and everything. We were quite happy to play even a two-day game and use that one extra day for practice here. But they said tickets and all that, so we said okay, 'we will play a three-day game'.”
