The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has claimed that Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is aware of MS Dhoni’s future plan. The wicket-keeper batsman is on sabbatical since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 while speculations about his retirement are going on for some time now. Meanwhile, Ganguly has added to the speculations and has claimed that Kohli is well aware of Dhoni’s future plan. “He's (MS Dhoni) had communication with the captain, I am sure he has had communication with the selectors, and I don't think this is the platform to discuss about it,” Ganguly said in the latest episode of 'Inspiration' on India Today.
The BCCI president also praised Dhoni and said it will be difficult to get a player of Dhoni's calibre. "It's his (Dhoni) decision what he wants to do, but I don't know. I haven't spoken to him, but he's a champion, he's been an absolute champion in Indian cricket." Dhoni last represented India in the semi-final of ICC CWC 2019 against New Zealand. Since then the wicket-keeper is out of action and Rishabh Pant has been doing the wicket-keeping duties. As the suspension around Dhoni’s retirement continues to grow, one thing is for sure that he will be seen in action in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).
