The Indian Premier League is all about records. With the teams gearing up for their games for the IPL 2018, came across an interesting trivia about Virat Kohli who represents Vijay Mallya’s Royal Challengers Bangalore. Ever since its inception, the RCB has retained Virat Kohli as their key player.
With this, the Indian captain becomes the only player in the IPL to have played from the same team for 11 years. Harbhajan Singh, who represented Mumbai Indians for a decade, was bought in the auction of IPL 2018 by Chennai Super Kings.
Talking about Virat Kohli, the right- hand batsman has been the winner of the Orange Cap in 2016. The Indian skipper had made 640 runs in 16 outings in that year and had proven to be a nightmare for all the opponents. Kohli’s team RCB has reached the IPL final twice, losing both times – to in 2009 to the Deccan Chargers (now defunct), and then to in 2011 to the Chennai Super Kings.
Check out a few other interesting trivia about the team:

Go Green Initiative
At times, team Royal Challengers Bangalore is also spotted donning a green jersey which is to support the Go Green initiative. The franchise has been continuing this practice since 2011.
Team RCB will start their first campaign in the IPL 2018 against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 8th at the Eden Gardens. It will be interesting to see how the RCB team fares under Virat Kohli’s captaincy this season. The team will be banking heavily on the spin-duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar in their quest of maiden IPL title. With Brendon McCullum, AB de Villiers, and captain Kohli himself in the ranks, Diwali might come soon at M. Chinnaswamy stadium this year!
