Former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson hailed Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli for setting new standards in all three formats. Kohli, who turned 36 on November 05, 2024, has achieved many historic milestones in his glorious international career so far. Kohli is the only batter in the world to smash 50 ODI centuries. Kohli's hunger to score big runs has made him one of the greatest Indian batters in home and away conditions. Many cricket pundits have hailed Kohli's hunger and consistency at this level. "Virat, you know, like I mentioned leading in terms of setting new standards in all three formats and his ability to move between them and his ability to win games of cricket. I truly appreciate when you see that mixed him with the selfless nature or the tenacious appetite you want to use that to win games for the team, and I think that adds so much more to it, and he has done that in spades," Kane Williamson said in a video posted by Star Sports on 'X.'

Williamson missed the recently concluded three-match test series against India due to a groin injury that he sustained during the Sri Lanka Test series in September. However, New Zealand didn't miss the service of Williamson, as they stunned India by whitewashing them 3-0 at their den. This was the first time India was whitewashed at home in a three-or-more match test series.
