Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers’ captain at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), has posted a special message on social media for the recently retired South African. Kohli took to Twitter and in his farewell message for de Villiers addressed him as ‘brother’. Kohli also wrote that de Villiers changed the way batting was seen during his career. The duo is known to share a good bond and have dished out some splendid partnerships for the RCB as well.

The Indian cricket team captain also wished best for de Villiers for his future. “Wish you all the best in everything that you do my brother. You’ve changed the way batting was seen in the time you’ve played international cricket. Earlier this week, ABD surprised one and all after announcing his retirement from the international cricket. De Villiers, in a video message on his Twitter account, said that he is tired. “I have decided to retire from all international cricket with immediate effect. After 114 Test matches, 228 ODI’s and 78 T20 Internationals, it is time for others to take over. I have had my turn, and to be honest, I am tired,” he wrote.

This season in IPL, de Villiers managed to score 480 runs from 12 matches, including six half-centuries. Despite his good form, RCB failed to make it to last four of the tournament.
