With the pace and quality Indian skipper Virat Kohli has adapted in his batting style in international cricket, there are no doubts that he will break and create many records in upcoming future, as has done in the past as well. In the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 India vs West Indies match, the 30-year-old batsman and Team India Captain is eyeing an elite record. The right-handed batsman will be all set to reach 20,000 international runs, a record only clinched by 11 cricketers so far.

Kohli has 19,963 runs at present in international cricket, and if he scores 37 runs in the match against West Indies in the ongoing ICC CWC 2019, he will be the 12th overall batsman and third Indian batsman to achieve the milestone. Kohli currently has 11,087 runs in ODIs, 6,613 in Tests and 2,263 in T20Is. Virat Kohli Chills With Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav Ahead of India vs West Indies ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Match (View Pics)

If the Indian skipper scores at least 37 runs against West Indies, he will not only reach 20,000 runs but also become the fastest cricketer to reach the milestone. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and West Indies legend Brian Lara took 453 innings each to clinch the record. Kohli has only played 416 innings in Tests, ODIs and T20s combined so far, and, therefore, can become the fastest player to reach the milestone.

Among Indian cricketers, only Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs) and Rahul Dravid (24,208 runs) have achieved the feat. Others in the list include Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara (28016), Australia's Ricky Ponting (27483), Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene (25957), South Africa's Jacques Kallis (25534), West Indies' Brian Lara (22358), Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya (21032), West Indies' S Chanderpaul  (20988), Pakistan's Inzamam-ul-Haq  (20580) and South Africa's AB de Villiers (20014).  Bhuvneshwar Kumar Is Back?
