Virat Kohli was dismissed on a single digit score for the first time in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The Indian skipper, who has been in sublime form in CWC 2019, was trapped LBW by Trent Boult in the third over of the Indian innings. His dismissal, especially after Rohit Sharma was removed in the previous over, left the Indian cricket fans disappointed. They were quick to troll the Indian captain for his poor run in the CWC 2019 semi-finals.

Kohli arrived at the crease in the second over after Rohit was removed by Matt Henry but failed to last long. The 30-year-old was set up brilliantly by Boult, who after bowling three consecutive deliveries on the off-stump sent one down leg sent the New Zealand crowd into jubilation. The celebration of the New Zeland players told the importance of Kohli's wicket.

Earlier, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja showed tremendous fielding skills as India restricted New Zealand to 239/8 in 50 overs after skipper Kane Williamson had won the toss and opted to bast first. The game originally to be played on Tuesday had to be postponed to a reserve day after incessant rainfall and poor play conditions prevented the game from taking place.
