Kohli also became the fourth cricketer overall to attain the 250-match mark in the IPL. MS Dhoni stands at the top of the list of most matches played in the IPL with 263 appearances and he is followed by Rohit Sharma and Kohli's RCB teammate Dinesh Karthik. Karthik, on his part, completed 250 IPL appearances earlier this season. Kohli has been among the most prolific run-scorers in the Indian Premier League, amassing 7,897 runs, the most by a player in the tournament. The 35-year-old has been in spectacular form in IPL 2024. In 12 matches so far, Kohli has scored 634 runs with five fifties and one century. Moreover, he has answered criticism over his strike-rate by striking at 153.51. He is also the current Orange Cap holder and will look to continue his good form in the remaining matches.
