There was some bounce on the delivery and was too close to cut. Handscomb, however, went for the shot and ended up edging it to the second slip. The ball was, in fact, flying over the slip, but Kohli timed his jump to perfection and the plucked the ball with his right hand. He stretched full to convert that opportunity into a wicket.
Handscomb came out to bat after Australia lost three wickets in the post-lunch session. After a wicket-less opening session, India found three in the second session and then at the start of the third session, Ishant removed Handscomb. Opting to bat first, Australia were off to a good start with openers Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris adding 112 for the first wicket. Both the openers scored half-centuries. Finch was the first Australian batsman to be dismissed when Jasprit Bumrah trapped him in front of the wickets. Soon, Usman Khawaja and Harris fell to Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari as India bounce back. At the time of writing this story, Australia were five down with Vihari removing Shaun Marsh.
