Virat Kohli Brings Up his 26th Century in Tests During IND vs SA, 2nd Test 2019 Day 2; Equals Steve Smith & Ricky Ponting

Indian captain Virat Kohli has notched up yet another century in the Test match during India vs South Africa second Test 2019 which is currently underway at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune. During the course of his innings, Kohli slammed 16 fours and no sixes. He faced 173balls to bring up 26th Test century of his career.

Indian captain Virat Kohli has notched up yet another century in the Test match during India vs South Africa second Test 2019 which is currently underway at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune. During the course of his innings, Kohli slammed  16 fours and no sixes. He faced 173balls to bring up 26th Test century of his career. Kohli walked in to bat after the departure of Cheteshwar Pujara who made 58 runs. With this, the Indian cricket captain equalled the record of Steve Smith and Ricky Ponting. India Vs South Africa, Live Cricket Score 2nd Test Match. 

This was Virat Kohli's 26th century and so far in his Test career, Smith too has 26 centuries in his kitty. Also as a captain, this was Kohli's 19 hundred. Ricky Ponting too had got 19th hundreds as the skipper of his side. As of now, the Indian cricket captain is batting alongside Ajinkya Rahane. The two have contributed with 147 runs for the wicket.  In this inning, the Indian cricket captain batted at the strike rate of 59.03.

Talking about the game, India had won the toss and elected to bat first. Rohit Sharma who scored a century in both the innings made 14 runs and departed to the pavilion. It was Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara who contributed with 138 runs after an early wicket. The Indian opener who had piled up a double hundred in the last match, went on to score a century. Cheteshwar Pujara departed on the score of 58 runs. Mayank Agarwal too made 105 and walked away into the pavilion. For now, India stands on the score of 345 runs for the loss of three wickets.
