Virat Kohli smashed record at will during the second ODI game against the West Indies at the Queens Park Oval in Port of Spain. From beating Javed Miandad's 26-year-old record to overtaking Sourav Ganguly, Kohli had a belter while registering his 42nd ODI century which was also his first in five months of international cricket. Kohli now has scored 11406 ODI runs for India and is only second to Tendulkar in the list for most ODI runs ever scored by an Indian in international cricket. The 30-year-old cricketer reached the milestone in his 238th innings. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, who Kohli overtook, had scored 11221 ODI runs in 308 games. The current Indian skipper started the game at Port of Spain on 11, 331 ODI runs and reached the feat with a single off West Indies skipper Jason Holder in the 32nd over. Kohli first smashed Holder for a boundary on the off-side to equal Ganguly before nudging the fourth delivery of the four to long to overtake his predecessor and add another fresh feather to his already illustrious hat. Kohli was batting on 80 then.

Kohli is also eighth in the list of all-time top ODI run-scorers with Tendulkar leading the illustrious list.
