This did not go down well with Kohli and he argued with the umpires for continuing with the game despite the rainfall. Later during the post-match show, even the former captain Michael Clarke agreed with Virat Kohli stand because the wetter the pitch got due to heavy downpour, the more difficult it would have been for the Indian batsmen to bat in the second innings. However, due to the continuation of rains, the second T20I between India and Australia was called off. The hosts are currently 1-0 ahead in the three-matchT20I series.
