This is the fourth-highest wicket stand for India against South Africa. But once the first testing hour passed the two altered their game a bit and picked up pace.

The Indian batting line up displayed an immense amount of character right from the start of the match. After an early wicket of Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara jointly contributed with 138 runs on the board. The Indian opener scored a century for the second time in the series. Whereas Chesteshwar Pujara also scored a half-century. Rahane also scored a half-century during the innings.
