Composure and determination are the apt words to describe the innings of Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane on the day two of the Test match which is hosted at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune. The two batsmen have out up 158 run partnership on the board and have surpassed Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly who had contributed with 145 runs at Johannesburg in 1996-97. The first session on the day was completely dominated by the Indians as they also had a fair share of luck when the two batsmen were dropped in the slips and Rahane was about to run out himself. India will be looking to pile up 500 plus runs on the board. Kohli and Rahane were quite slow at the start of the innings owing to the conditions. But once the first testing hour passed the two altered their game a bit and picked up pace.
The Indian batting line up displayed an immense amount of character right from the start of the match. After an early wicket of Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara jointly contributed with 138 runs on the board. The Indian opener scored a century for the second time in the series. Whereas Chesteshwar Pujara also scored a half-century. Rahane also scored a half-century during the innings.
