All that matters in a sport to succeed is your commitment towards it. A lot of talented players have gone astray after tasting success early in their career. Not this young player! Unmukt Chand. The former U-19 World Cup Indian captain scored a blistering century, despite a broken jaw. Yes, that's true!

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh, the skilled Delhi cricketer played a superb inning even after his jaw was broken. Chand slammed 116 runs during his 125-ball stay at the crease. His innings included 16 boundaries, of which he hit 12 fours and 3 sixes.

It may seem like a regular inning but then scoring a ton despite a broken jaw is nothing less than a herculean task. Chand's masterful knock helped his team - Delhi, set a daunting target of 307 runs. Uttar Pradesh failed to chase and were all-out on 252, as Delhi won the match by 55 runs.

Chand's injury did not take place during the match, as one would have thought. He got injured during the team's practice session, just before the match was scheduled to start. Without worrying about his injury being aggravated, the Delhi batsman took the field and hit a knock that will be remembered for a long time. The following update was posted on micro-blogging site Twitter, with Former cricketer Anjum Chopra wishing recovery to Unmukt Chand:

A lot of such instances have taken place in Cricket history. Anil Kumble took the field and was heavily bandaged on the face in a Test match against West Indies, in 2002. Kumble had then managed to take the priced wicket of Brian Lara! The Test match was drawn. In another instance, Graeme Smith came out to bat against the mighty Aussies to save the Test Match. Smith's valour to come out and bat, despite nursing a broken hand, and face the wrath of the desperate bowling attack was a sight to watch.
