Yo-yo tests have become quite an integral part for sealing a spot in the Indian team. Skipper Virat Kohli is considered to be the fittest player in the team as he clocked the score of 19 in the yo-yo tests. Now, we have this 21-year-old uncapped player Mayak Dagar who surpassed Virat Kohli with the score of 19.3.

He even surpassed Manish Pandey who clocked 19.2. Recently, Sanju Samson was dropped from India A team yo-yo test. “The Yo-Yo fitness test has seen its first victim. Wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson, who is quite an attraction during the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches for his clean hitting and explosive batting, was dropped from the India 'A' squad for the tour of England as he failed the Yo-Yo test,” reported Mumbai Mirror.  Mohammed Shami also failed the yo-yo test thus lost a spot from the Indian team. Manan shared the news on social media.

Ahead of the crucial to England, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and a few others players also reported to Bangalore at the NCA for the yo-yo tests. Rohit Sharma had cleared the yo-yo test and then lashed out at the news channel for not verifying the news with him. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Dear... it’s no ones business how & where I spend my time. I’m entitled to have time off as long as I follow protocol. Let’s debate some real news shall we😊 & to a few channels,I had just 1 chance to clear my yo-yo that was today.Verification before reporting is always a good idea.(sic)."

Mayak Dagar, the nephew of Virender Sehwag has played for India during the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2006. Reportedly, it was former India coach Anil Kumble who introduced the Test in Indian cricket. Yo-Yo is basically a Test of player’s endurance. The Test is simple and doesn’t need any hi-tech device.
