For a few days now, the Indian selectors and team management have been in the news for not communicating enough with the players after they are dropped from the squad. First, it was Karun Nair who spilt the beans on the same and then it was Murali Vijay who seconded his opinion. However, Indian speedster Umesh Yadav has refuted the claims made by both M Vijay and Nair. In a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, the speedster went on to reveal that the selectors explained to him the reasons for being dropped from the squad. Backing the team management Yadav said that if someone makes you sit out for 35-40 Tests then the selectors have to explain to you the reason for the same, “So that communication is there. Like, in England, I played the first Test. In the second Test, they felt they should play a spinner, but with the rain all plans were changed. Nobody can do anything about it. Their decision went a little bit wrong. Still, they had told me. It's not that we are dropping you, Umesh. But our thinking and planning is for an extra spinner, that's it,” he said. A few days ago, Murali Vijay had said that none of the selectors communicated with him after he was dropped from the Test squad in England. He also went on to add that a few members of the team management did have a word with him after his exclusion, but no one from the selection committee spoke to him. He also said that a lot of shuffling in the team’s squad did not help him as a player in England. However, selector MSK Prasad was quite shocked by the claims of Murali Vijay. The selector said that his colleague was in touch with M Vijay and also revealed to him the reasons for his ouster.
