One of the modern-day great bowlers, New Zealand’s Trent Boult, turns 35 today. The left-arm pacer was born on July 22, 1989 in Rotorua and has had a great impact on Kiwi cricket with him leading their charge for more than a decade in all formats of the game. Being a colossal figure for the team, the veteran bowler played in two fifty-over World Cup finals and a T20 World Cup final. He also won the inaugural World Test Championship, defeating India in a thriller. Currently, the bowler enjoys franchise-based T20 cricket all around the world and is a big brand in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Trent Boult made his Test debut against Australia back in 2011 and played 78 tests for the national team, picking up 317 wickets with the red ball. He also has 211 ODI wickets in just 114 games with a bowling average of 24.38. Considered a specialist for the T20 format, the Kiwi pacer managed 83 wickets in 61 games. Currently contracted with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, Trent Boult has played for the likes of KKR, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Delhi Capitals as well. He made his IPL debut in 2015 for Sunrisers Hyderabad and has taken 212 wickets in 104 matches so far. He also regularly features in MI New York and MI Emirates team. The one thing that makes him standout in these leagues is his ability to pick up early wickets with the new ball and keep a check on the opposition scoring chart.
