The inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) have a knack of turning unknown players into big names. It won the 2008 edition of IPL with not so many big names in their squad. Rajasthan Royals like most of the sides retained their core for the upcoming seasons and fine-tuned their squad at the auctions with some known and unknown talent. Royals also recruited some lesser known overseas players. Ahead of the IPL 2019, we take a look at some upcoming talent in the RR squad.

Riyan Parag: The 17-year-old Assam batsman was picked by Rajasthan Royals for a base price of INR 20 Lakhs. It will be interesting to see if Parag gets to make his debut or not. Oshane Thomas: Royals snapped the Windies pacer for INR 1.1 Crores. The 22-year-old has already represented Windies in ODIs and T20Is. He recently picked 5/21 against England in an ODI. And now has 15 wickets in nine ODIs against his name.

Ashton Turner: The 26-year-old Australian middle-order batsman is known for his big hits. He recently smashed unbeaten 84 off just 43 balls to help Australia chase down 359 against India and announced his arrival. He is a known commodity in the Big Bash League. After lifting the inaugural edition of IPL, Rajasthan Royals failed to qualify for last four for subsequent four seasons. After completing a two-year suspension, Royals made it to the playoffs last season.
