Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) was one of the franchises that went for the major overhaul albeit retaining some of the core players. At the auction, Kings XI made it to the headlines by signing new faces and handing them contracts in Crores. Over the years, Kings XI Punjab have made changes to their squad season after season. Having shelled out huge money for some unknown faces, Kings XI Punjab management will be looking forward for some match-winning performances from the youngsters. These young players are likely to feature in the KXIP playing XI at least in the first phase of IPL given that the franchise has heavily spent on them. Varun Chakravarthy: The mystery spinner emerged as the costliest uncapped player at the auctions preceding the upcoming season. The Punjab franchise shelled out whopping INR 8.4 Crores for the Tamil Nadu player. Chakravarthy is known to have not one but seven variations in his bowling armoury.

Prabhsimran Singh: Another new face for which Kings XI in crores was Prabhsimran Singh. He was bought by Kings XI Punjab for INR 4.8 Crores. The 18-year-old cricketer was the captain of the India U-19 which lifted the Asia Cup in Bangladesh last year. Harpreet Brar: The 23-year-old all-rounder was picked after a his fourth trail with the Kings XI Punjab. With his all-round skills, Brar could well become an important member of the Kings XI Punjab squad.

Kings XI Punjab is one of the teams yet to win the coveted IPL title. In last four consecutive seasons, the Mohali-based franchise has failed to qualify for the playoffs. In 2014 editions, KXIP finished as runners-up- their best finish in the IPL.
