Karnataka Skipper Manish Pandey wreaked havoc against Services in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019 and registered a scintillating century. The right-handed batsman scored 129 runs off mere 54 deliveries and played a crucial role in his side’s 80-run triumph. Pandey came into bat at number three after opener Rohan Kadam was dismissed in the opening over of the first innings. During the course of his innings, the dasher scored 12 boundaries and his 10 shots went over the ropes which basically means 108 off his 129 runs came in just fours and sixes. Courtsey his flabbergasting knock, Karnataka posted a mammoth total of 250 runs in their allotted 20 overs which proved to be too much for the Services as could manage only 170 runs in the second innings and eventually lost the match by 80 runs. Pandey’s carnage also powered Karnataka at the pinnacle of the Group A points table.

With the number four conundrum still not solved in the Indian team,  the batsman has certainly made his case stronger for that spot. Pandey was also the part of India’s squad which recently thrashed Bangladesh 2-1 in the T20I series. He even played a handy cameo of 22 runs in the last match and help the Men in Blue post 174 runs in the first innings. Pandey will look to extend his good run in the upcoming matches in order to guide his side to the title and grab a berth in India's squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2020.
