The second semi-final of the Women’s Big Bash League 2019 was no less than an edge of the seat thriller. After winning the toss, Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bat first and posted the total of 131 runs for Melbourne Renegades at the Drummoyne Oval in Sydney. The match ended with a tie and went on to have a super over. The team needed three runs from the last over and it looked like Sophie Molineux from Melbourne Renegades remained not out until the last ball would walk away with the match. Big Bash and Super League Will Help in World Cup: Smriti Mandhana.

Sophie hit the ball to the boundary but Erin Burns dived to save a couple of runs for the team. Sarah Aley threw the ball and Molineux was short of the stumps and the match then ended into a Super Over. Renegades just managed to score 6 runs and the Sydney Sixers achieved the target in the fourth ball itself. The team thus sealed a spot into the finals of the WBBL 2019.

The video of the thriller went viral and was shared on social media. Check out the video.
