Earlier this week, Virat Kohli overtook Suresh Raina to become the highest run-scorer in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) when Royal Challengers Bangalore were up against Mumbai Indians. Now today, Raina has regained the top position by going past Kohli and looks the cat and mouse game between the two will continue throughout the IPL 2018. Raina needed 47 at the start of the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad to go past Kohli. The left-hander finished unbeaten on 54 and regained the top position. During his knock, Raina smashed five fours and two sixes.

Raina earlier missed CSK’s match against Kings XI Punjab as he was out of action for a week after suffering a calf injury. But returned to the field against Rajasthan Royals and scored valuable 46 off 29 balls in that match.
Meanwhile, Super Kings batting first posted 182 for three in their 20 overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Apart from Raina’s half-century, Ambati Rayudu scored impressive 79 off just 37 balls to help his side post a competitive total. Chennai have so far have won three out of four matches and occupy the second spot on the IPL 2018 points table.
