ICC posted a photo of Gavaskar from his younger days and wished him. Calling the former right-handed batsman as 'Ambassdor of sport', Mumbai Indians shared an old photo of Gavaskar while batting to wish him on his birthday. Sunil Gavaskar was born on July 10, 1949, in Mumbai. The Mumbai-based batsman played cricket for India for 20 long years, from 1969 to 1989. Gavaskar is famous for scaling many records in Tests, for instance, becoming first cricketers to reach 10,000 runs in Tests. He also held the record for the most number of centuries in Tests (34) for almost two decades, before Sachin Tendulkar finally broke it in 2005.
