Sunil Gavaskar was recorded emulating Amitabh Bachchan during the 3rd T20I game between India vs South Africa. The legendary Indian batsman mimicked Bachchan while reading out a question regarding India’s batting middle order and most importantly the No 4 batting position in the Indian team. Gavaskar while reading out the question as to who should be batting in the middle order imitated Bachchan’s voice from the popular gaming reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). The Indian middle-order has been a topic of discontentment for some time now. It swept over the country during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, with questioned raised after Ambati Rayudu was dropped from CWC 2019 squad in favour of Vijay Shankar, citing that Shankar was a three-dimensional cricketer.
India have preferred Pant for the contentious ‘No 4’ position in recent times. But the 21-year-old left-handed batsman has failed to deliver the goods despite being backed both the captain Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri. In five T20I innings since the World Cup, Pant has only hit one half-century.
