Steve Smith, David Warner to Play Club Cricket in Australia in September

Due to the suspension, Smith, Warner and Cameron Bancroft are barred from taking part in Australiaā€™s domestic competitions, which includes Big Bash League (BBL) as well.

Australian cricketers Steve Smith and David Warner, who are currently under suspension for their involvement in ball-tampering, are likely to play on their home soil for the first time after ban this September. The duo is expected to represent their respective club sides in grade cricket on September 22. Smith will represent Sutherland while Warner will play for Randwick-Petersham. However, their final availability is still unconfirmed.

Due to the suspension, Smith, Warner and Cameron Bancroft areĀ barred from taking part in Australiaā€™s domestic competitions, which includes Big Bash League (BBL) as well. However, the trio has been suggested by Cricket Australia (CA) to feature in club level cricket. Both Smith and Warner were barred from participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well.

However, the duo recently participated in the Global T20 Canada and are currently plying their trade in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2018. Smith and Warner were handed a one-year ban for their involvement in the ball tampering during the Test series against South Africa in March earlier this year. Bancroft, the third player, involved in the tampering was banned for nine months.
