The second match of the two-day tournament played on the frozen St. Moritz Lake on February 9 saw Sehwag lucky with the toss again. The former Indian opening batsman once again decided to bat and post a 200-plus target for the opponents. Sehwag with retired Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan opened the innings for Diamonds Palace. Viru showed off his love for hitting balls out of the park as he knocked 46 runs off 22 deliveries. But once the Diamonds captain departed, the side lost quick three wickets to be 91-4 at the end of 11 overs.

Andrew Symonds, the former Australian all-rounder in the company of retired Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif bailed the team out of the crisis. The two stitched 114 runs partnership to take Diamonds total to 205 runs. While Symonds smashed 67 runs off 42 deliveries, Kaif hit 57 runs off 30 balls. The two together hammered 7 fours and 10 sixes to post a total, which looked a match-winning target, but Royals batsmen had different ideas.

Chasing a mammoth target of 206 runs, Royals got off to a great start with Graeme Smith, former South African captain blasted a well-timed half-century. He made 58 runs in just 36 deliveries. Diamonds bowlers barely looked threatening as Kallis and last match hero Owais Shah joined the party. Kallis made 90 runs off just 37 balls that included 13 fours and 4 giant sixes. Meanwhile, former English player Shah hit 43 runs in 21 deliveries to safely take Royals home, winning the match by eight wickets with 20 balls remaining.
