The Board of Cricket Control of India declared that the Men in Blue will host three-match T20I series to Sri Lanka at the start of 2020. The decision was taken in the wake of Zimbabwe cancelling the tour to India after being suspended by the ICC. The tournament could also be touted as the preparation for the upcoming T20I World Cup which will take place in 2020. Below is the timetable for the three-game series with fixtures, match timings with venue details.
The first match will be played on January 5, 2020, in Guwahati. The second match will be played on January 7, 2020, in Indore. The last match will be played on January 10, 2020, in Pune. “In the wake of Zimbabwe’s suspension by ICC, the BCCI invited Sri Lanka to participate in the three-match series. Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed their participation and the itinerary is as under,” read the press release on the BCCI website. The timings of the series are yet to be confirmed.
