A very good performance this by the Sri Lankan team, one that is surely going to lift them after a scare they survived against Afghanistan in their last encounter. Sadeera Samarawickrama showed immense maturity on a tough track to score 93 runs and guide Sri Lanka to a decent total. Their bowlers followed up that effort as they never really let Bangladesh gain control apart from two partnerships. One has to feel for Towhid Hridoy here. He played his heart out against a quality Sri Lankan bowling attack and scored 82 runs. And after his dismissal, it was all curtains for Bangladesh with their defeat inevitable. Eventually, Sri Lanka won the match by 21 runs while Bangladesh suffered their second consecutive loss in the Super Four stage.

And Sri Lanka win this match as Matheesha Pathirana castles Nasum Ahmed with a perfect yorker! What a performance it has been from the reigning champions, who fought back so well in the last phase of this game to start their Super Four campaign with a victory!

For Bangladesh, all their hopes are on Towhid Hridoy, who scored a half-century and is looking good. Sri Lanka on the other hand, have put a lot of pressure with their bowling, having skipper Dasun Shanaka take three wickets.

The game seems to be in a crucial phase at this point with Bangladesh doing well to have a partnership. Mushfiqur Rahim and Towhid Hridoy have absorbed the pressure in this match and Bangladesh would want these players to carry on if they are to get close to a win here. Sri Lanka on the other hand, need a wicket at this stage. 

The flow of runs have dried in Colombo with Sri Lankan bowlers applying pressure on Bangladesh. The Tigers have lost four wickets and they need Mushfiqur Rahim and Towhid Hridoy to stick around and build a partnership. At the moment, the hosts are on top but Bangladesh still have a chance if they manage to get through this phase of the match.

Bangladesh have not lost a wicket but Sri Lanka have not made scoring easy. Mohammad Naim out of the two batters, have struggled to rotate strike a bit but Mehidy Hasan Miraz at the other end has been in good touch. 

Bangladesh have had a good start to this chase with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mohammad Naim starting off proceedings. So far, they have looked to rotate strike and get going but Sri Lanka's bowling too has been decent. The pitch is a tricky one with the game balanced at the moment. 

What a knock it has been from Sadeera Samarawickrama! The right-hander played himself in and then went all out in the end, scoring a fine 93. The pitch was tough to bat on and Sri Lanka have a good total which they would back themselves to defend, especially with the bowling they have. For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed took three wickets apiece while Shoriful Islam scalped two wickets.
