So, Afghanistan knock Sri Lanka out of the Asia Cup 2018. Sri Lanka suffer back to back defeats and end their winless campaign. Afghanistan will next meet Bangladesh and winner will finish as topper of Group B. Meanwhile, Afghanistan bowlers dished out a disciplined performance and complimented their batsmen. That's it! Afghanistan beat Sri Lanka. Rashid Khan traps Lasith Malinga in front of the wickets and with that Sri Lanka are out of the Asia Cup 2018. Meanwhile, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are through to the Super 4 round.

Gulbadin Naib picks his second wicket. He gets rid of Thisara Perera and the celebrations have begun in the Afghanistan camp and why not. They are all set to register their first win over Sri Lanka. Big moment this for the young Afghan side.

One more bites the dust! Sri Lanka losing the plot here. Well-set Upul Tharanga plays a poor shot. He was looking to go over mid-off, ends up hitting it straight towards Asghar Afghan. Needless shot that and Tharanga has to pay the price.

Rashid Khan strikes in his first over. He removes the dangerous looking Kusal Perera. The left-hander was looking to sweep the ball, misses the line and is bowled. 

Sri Lanka have lost second wicket. Dhananjaya is run out. Dhananjaya wanted the second run, Tharanga was not interested. In the meantime, Dhananjaya is short of the crease at striker's end.

After ten overs, Sri Lanka have recovered well. Upul Tharanga is looking good  and he needs to play the sheet anchor role. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka need 208 more runs to win from 40 overs.

Sri Lanka need a partnership early on in their innings. Upul Tharanga and Dhananjaya de Silvaare in with a big task.

What a start for Afghanistan. Mujeeb Zadran strikes in the first over. He traps Kusal Mendis in front of the wickets. Another duck for Kusal Mendis. 

So, Afghanistan have been bowled out for 249. Sri Lanka will need 250 runs to win. It is a competitive total and Afghanistan spinners have the ability to trouble any batting line-up in the world.

Afghanistan have lost couple of wickets and that has pegged them back a bit. 250 still remains the target for Afghanistan and if they manage to reach that, this is going to be a good game.

Four overs remaining now. Afghanistan should look to go past the 250-run mark from here and that will make things little tough for Sri Lanka. Mohammad Nabi is still out there and he will be looking to provide Afghanistan the much-needed impetus.

With six overs remaining, Afghanistan will be looking to up the ante and finish their innings on a high. Hashmatullah Shahidi and Mohammad Nabi have their work cut out.

Big wicket this for Sri Lanka. Well set Rahmat Shah departs for 72. He was looking threatening and Sri Lanka will be relived to his exit. He was looking to go over long-on and perishes in the process.

Rahmat Shah has completed his half-century. He holds the key for Afghanistan from here on. If he stays there till the end, Afghanistan have a good chance of posting a challenging total. 

Asghar Afghan, formerly Asghar Stanikzai,  is the latest batsmen to be dismissed.  He is trapped in front of the wickets as well. Sri Lanka crawling back in the game slowly.
