Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals Highlights, IPL 2023: Yuzvendra Chahal, Jos Buttler Shine in RR's 72-Run Victory

Rajasthan Royals have clinched a 72-run victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad to start their IPL 2023 campaign. Batting first, RR put up a massive total of 203 on board, courtesy of Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal. In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad could only reach 131 in their 20-over quota. This was a clinical victory from last season's runners-up who have made their intentions clear. Hyderabad meanwhile will have to do a lot of things better in the upcoming matches. 

Out! Yuzvendra Chahal gets rid of Buvneshwar Kumar with a flat and straight delivery. Hyderabad are yet to cross the 100-run mark and RR are cruising towards a big victory. 

Out! Here goes the seventh wicket. Adil Rashid has been stumped by Sanju Samson. Yuzvendra Chahal gets his 3rd wicket of the match. Rajasthan inching closer towards victory. 

Out! Mayank Agarwal gets caught in the deep trying to hit Yuzvendra Chahal and loses his wicket. Immediately after, RR make their impact player sub bringing in Navdeep Saini for Yashasvi Jaiswal. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad make a desperate impact player sub as they bring in Abdul Samad for Fazalhaq Farooqi after losing half their side within 10 overs. 

Out! Its looking grim for the Orange Army at the moment as they lose Washington Sundar and Glenn Phillips in quick succession. They have now lost half the side and have a mountain to climb. 

Out! First over of Yuzvendra Chahal in this season's IPL and he has managed to get rid of Harry Brook. Chahal bowls a flat and quick delivery which skids and finds the off stump of the English batter. Hyderabad are now in more trouble. 

End of the powerplay and Sunrisers Hyderabad have managed only 30 runs from these 6 overs. they have also lost two wickets and are quite behind at this stage of the match. Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal are currently trying to stitch a partnership for SRH. 

This has been a good start for Rajasthan Royals so far. SRH are still stunned after losing two wickets in the first over. They will have to score quickly now or the game might slip from their hands. 

Out! Here goes the second wicket. It was a full outswinger outside of the off stump as Tripathi came down the track and opened the face. However, Jason Holder takes an outstanding catch to send the SRH batter back. What a start for Rajasthan Royals!

Out! Trent Boult gives Rajasthan Royals an early breakthrough with a brilliant outswinging yorker. The Kiwi pacer gets rid of Abhishek Sharma in the 3rd delivery of the 1st over. 

Being asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals have put up a good total of 203/5 in their 20-over quota. The top three of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson got half-centuries for the RR team. Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer played a valuable innings in the death overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan picked up two wickets each for SRH. This will be now a tough chase for Hyderabad. 

Out! Here is the big wicket of Sanju Samson. Natarajan is once again showing why he is regarded as one of the best death bowlers in the IPL. It was a back-of-a-length delivery from the left-arm pacer which Samson nearly sent to the boundary. However, Abhishek Sharma was in the right place to take a brilliant catch and dismiss the RR captain. 

Captain Sanju Samson has brought up his first fifty of IPL 2023. Since the dismissal of Buttler, Samason has showed great stroke-making and helped Rajasthan to keep a healthy run rate. The Indian batter will now aim to finish strong. 

Out! Riyan Parag has been dismissed by T Natarajan in the 1st delivery after the time out. It was a slower off-cutter in the good length area that got the better of Parag. West Indies batter Shimron Hetmyer has now joined Sanju Samson in the crease. 

Out! Umran Malik cleaned up Devdutt Padikkal as Rajasthan Royals lost their third wicket. The two back-to-back wickets have brought SRH into the game. However, Sanju Samson on the other hand is going strong and will hope to take RR to a good total. 

Out! Fazalhaq Farooqi finally breaks this partnership. Just after reaching the fifty mark, Yashasvi Jaiswal miscued a pull shot and finds Mayank Agarwal at the deep mid-wicket. Devdutt Padikkal has now joined Sanju Samson in the middle. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal has brought up a fine half-century for Rajasthan Royals. The opener is currently stitching a very important partnership with Sanju Samson. He will be hoping to capitalise on his start. 

We are halfway into the Rajasthan Royals innings and the visitors are at the top of this game. Despite Buttler's dismissal, RR are maintaining a very good run rate. They are currently well set for a big total. SRH are in desperate need of some wickets. 

Out! Finally, SRH get their most prized wicket as Fazalhaq Farooqi cleans up Jos Buttler who was on absolute rampage and scored his fifty in just 20 deliveries. His clean hitting helped Rajasthan Royals get a thundering start in the powerplay.
