Sunrisers Hyderabad once again defended a paltry total as they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by five runs. Needing 147 to win, the Virat Kohli-led side only managed 141. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a superb last over to successfully defend 12 runs. In the penultimate over it was Siddharth Kaul who made things difficult for RCB as he gave away only seven runs. RCB once again kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Captain Kohli and AB de Villiers fell in space of two overs and after that RCB lost the way. Colin de Grandhomme and Mandeep Singh tried to keep RCB in the match but some superb death bowling meant, SRH walk away with two points. For RCB, Kohli was top-scorer with 39 runs off 30 balls. Kane Williamson used five bowlers and all of them picked at least a wicket. Shakib al Hasan was most expensive bowler but he scalped crucial wickets of Parthiv Patel and Kohli.

Earlier, RCB) rode on pace duo of Mohammed Siraj (3/25) and Tim Southee (3/30) to restrict SRH to 146. Siraj accounted for the key wickets of opener Shikhar Dhawan, Yusuf Pathan and Wriddhiman Saha even as Southee started the proceedings with the wicket of the other opener Alex Hales and came back to remove Shakib Al Hasan and Sandeep Sharma, as the home side could manage just 41 runs losing seven wickets in the final five overs.
Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson raged a lone battle with a defiant half-century, despite losing his partners at regular intervals before Shakib joined him to forge a 64-run partnership for the fourth wicket and take the side past the 100-run mark. (With IANS inputs)
