In terms of head to head record, Hyderabad has managed 9 wins and Punjab with 4 in their 13 encounters. Here we look back at the results of their last five games. David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Kane Williamson went hammer and tongs against the hapless Kings XI Punjab bowlers to help Hyderabad reach a massive 207 runs. SRH vs KXIP – April 17 2017 - Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Hyderabad – SRH won by 5 runs
A close game of cricket where fine margins separated the two teams but it was Sunrisers Hyderabad who came out on top in the end. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s five-wicket haul overshadowed a brilliant 95 from Manan Vohra for Punjab. As long as Vohra was on crease it looked like KXIP would get to the 160 needed for a win but in the end, it ended on a sour note for the team from the north.
Hyderabad at home is going to be a tough challenge for Ravichandran Ashwin’s team but if they get the two points, it will be a huge booster for their confidence.
