If the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction is to go-by anything, the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) have formed the strongest of squads this year. The Orange Army had retained the likes of David Warner and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in their line-up. With David Kumar banned to participate to play in IPL and Cricket elsewhere for a period of 12 months, the SRH team management had to make Kane Williamson, their captain this season.

Using Right to Match (RTM)  cards, Sunrisers brought back opener Shikhar Dhawan, Rashid Khan and all-rounder Deepak Hooda. SRH also managed to snap middle-order batsman Manish Pandey but had to shell out a huge amount for the right-hander. He was picked by the Hyderabad based franchise for whopping Rs. 11 Crore. For the upcoming season, SRH will have the services of all-rounders like Shakib Al Hasan, Carlos Brathwaite, Mohammad Nabi and Yusuf Pathan and that makes the side more balanced. Wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, who boasts of impressive IPL record, was also picked by the Sunrisers.

SRH will open their campaign on day three of IPL 2018 in front of their home crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. Sunrisers play their second match at the home, as well, before flying to Kolkata for their first away game of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders.
