The franchises of the Indian Premier League have announced the names of the players they want to retain ahead of the mega auction. Sunrisers Hyderabad have also named the players they want to keep with them for the next cycle. he IPL governing council allowed the franchises to retain a maximum of six players. They also specified that a maximum of five capped players and two uncapped players can be retained.  SRH have focused on their overseas core and based on that they have made their decisions. Sunrisers Hyderabad changed their coaching staff in 2024 ahead of the IPL. Since then they have found some success and reached the final of the IPL 2024 but failed to win it. Despite that they will definitely want to hold on to their successful core in the retentions and in the mega auction later on. Captain Pat Cummins will also want that he gets a similar team when he takes over the responsibility of the franchise once again.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has been an inconsistent franchise in the recent past. They were once a formidable side under the captaincy of David Warner and Kane Williamson but since then they have slipped a bit in the competition. IPL 2024 was a major campaign for them where they have found their mojo again. They will look to carry it on in the upcoming seasons.
