PAK Win By 36 Runs (DLS) | South Africa vs Pakistan Highlights of 3rd ODI 2024: Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem Star as Pakistan Complete Historic 3-0 Series Whitewash

What a performance it has been from Pakistan as they become the first team to whitewash South Africa in an ODI series in South Africa. This series whitewash is set to give a lot of confidence to Pakistan, who are shaping up well for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at home! Saim Ayub stole the show with a stellar century (101) and fifties from Babar Azam (52) and Mohammad Rizwan (53) helped them post 308/9 in a game that was reduced to 47 overs per side due to rain. Heinrich Klaasen seemed to wage a lone battle for South Africa with a blistering 81 off 43 deliveries while there was also a lot of resistance shown from the lower middle-order. But another youngster, Sufiyan Muqeem (4/52) took four wickets on his ODI debut while Shaheen Afridi (2/70) and Naseem Shah (2/63) scalped two each. South Africa on the other hand, have some thinking to do. They have a lot of names out injured and they will aim at regrouping in the Test series that starts from December 26. South Africa won the T20Is 2-0 and Pakistan won the ODIs 3-0. The action shifts to the SA vs PAK Boxing Day Test in Centurion.

OUT! Sufiyan Muqeem has four wickets as he dismisses Kwena Maphaka and with this, Pakistan have beaten South Africa 3-0! What a performance it has been from them. It will be a huge confidence booster for the Green Shirts right before the Champions Trophy early next year! Another feather in the cap for Mohammad Rizwan!

OUT! South Africa lose another wicket just when it seemed that they were slowly growing into this run chase. The right-hander, who struck a couple of sixes off Shaheen Afridi earlier on, has found the fielder in Saim Ayub this time. OUT! Pakistan have got the big wicket of Heinrich Klaasen and the landscape of this game has changed considerably! The right-hander struck another ball in an attempt to clear the fence but he found Tayyab Tahir in the deep. Klaasen departs after a blistering 81 off just 43 deliveries! FIFTY for Heinrich Klaasen! The right-hander continues to hold this run chase together with another good performance, much like how he did in the second ODI. He has hit 50 off 29 balls and will look to carry on if South Africa are to win this match.

OUT! Saim Ayub can do no wrong today! He has dismissed David Miller and a lot of credit for that wicket goes to Mohammad Rizwan. Rizwan saw Miller attempting a lap shot and moved leg-side and managed to hold onto the ball which came straight at him. OUT! Rassie van der Dussen has been struck by Mohammad Hasnain right in front of the stumps here! Umpire Nitin Menon did not take long to raise his finger and a DRS from van der Dussen showed that there wasn't any edge and that the ball was crashing into the stumps. Sufiyan Muqeem strikes with his first ball and it was a half-tracker which the right-hander hit straight to Kamran Ghulam in the deep. South Africa have scored 57 runs while losing two wickets at end of 10 overs. Aiden Markram and Rassie van der Dussen are out in the middle for South Africa and they will look to put up a partnership here. Meanwhile, Pakistan on the other hand, will look for more wickets.

OUT! Shaheen Afridi has struck and has dismissed Tony de Zorzi! It is a good caught-and-bowled effort from the left-arm pacer who is pumped up after the dismissal. OUT! Naseem Shah has struck, dismissing Temba Bavuma! An early wicket is what Pakistan wanted and they got it with the right-arm pacer striking in the fourth over of the chase. Temba Bavuma has hit a couple of good shots for boundaries and is looking good here. Tony de Zorzi also struck two boundaries of Shaheen Shah Afridi's bowling A confident start for South Africa here and they will want this partnership to flourish and turn into a big one. Pakistan are under pressure earlier on and a wicket can relieve that

Shaheen Afridi has the new ball and Temba Bavuma has started this run chase with Tony de Zorzi. Chasing 309 in 47 overs is a steep ask and they need a couple of big partnerships to be on track in this match.

Pakistan have scored 308 runs in 47 overs, which is pretty good given the reduced overs. This score was possible due to Saim Ayub's century (101) coupled with fifties from Babar Azam (53) as well as Mohammad Rizwan (52). Salman Ali Agha (48) and Tayyab Tahir (28) also had cameos.
