SA Win by 2 Wickets | South Africa vs Pakistan 1st Test 2024 Day 4 Highlights: Kasigo Rabada and Marco Jansen Seal Impressive Win and Place in The WTC 2023-25 Final For Proteas

An unbeaten partnership for the ninth wicket between Rabada and Jansen sealed victory for South Africa. The side lost too many wickets in the middle with Mohammad Abbas putting the visitors back in the game. But Kasigo Rabad and Marco Jansen delivered under pressure and won the match for South Africa. With the win, South Africa confirms a place in the WTC 2023-25 final. 

Tats it! Jansen hits a boundary for the win. Kasigo Rabad and Marco Jansen formed an impressive partnership to win the game for the hosts. With all the chatters around the stumps and pressure from the bowlers, Rabada's fearless batting put Pakistan on the backfoot and South Africa now has sealed a place in the WTC Final with a historic win. 

Keeping his stumps open, Rabada has decided to play freely and was successful in collecting eight runs from Naseem Shah's over. 19 runs are required now. Jansen playing more defensively. Interestingly, there have been only three instances of a team winning a Test after being 8 down for less than 100 in the fourth innings, the last of which was by Pakistan against England at Lord's, 1992. 

We are back after the lunch break and South Africa now has cut the target by four runs in the first over. Rabada and Jansen will be under pressure with 28 more required. Pakistan side will be looking to capitalize on the same.

After Pakistan's fiery spell; Kasigo Rabada and Marco Jensen survived the later overs and will go back for lunch with the game still hanging in balance. 32 runs required with just two wickets in hand for the Proteas. Visitors need just two deliveries to win the match while the hosts will look to take their time. 

Two wickets in two deliveries for Mohammad Abbas with a wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan involved in both those wickets. Pakistan with impressive comeback and Mohammad Abbas led the way for them with six wickets. the Pacer is on hattrick and his career best performancecertainly turned the game around for visitors. .

Once in complete control of the match, Proteas men are now struggling in the game. After losing Aiden Markram's wicket, Temba Bavuma has changed his role and playing more aggressively. The skipper is keeping the scoreboard ticking putting pressure back on the opposition. Again multiple appeals were made from Pakistan but nothing much concrete at the moment apart from Markram's wicket.

Chasing a 148-run target, Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram forming an important partnership now. Their 50+ run stand put the side in the controlling position. The visitors are trying everything for a breakthrough that could open a slight window for them.  

With a small yet tricky target, South Africa will be happy with the proceedings. 50 Runs up early in the first session with both batters playing every delivery watchfully. Only 98 runs are required now with plenty of time and overs left in the match. It's the match pretty much in the Proteas' grasp now.  

Aiden Markram starred in the first innings with 89 runs and is once again playing a crucial role in the run chase. Captain Temba Bavuma is also measuring every delivery before committing to it. He did survive two appeals but nothing to worry about till now for the Proteas skipper.

South Africa cut down the target by four runs in the opening over of the day 4. The sky is clear with little chance of rain till lunch. But the Proteas will look to certain the win with steady batting and will not rush into the shots. Pakistan bowlers will look to tease them with good length deliveries.   

With a margin of just 121 Runs and seven wickets for the win, both teams will fancy their chances in the match. South Africa team has two of their experienced batters in the middle while Pakistan will once again depend on their pace attack to deliver on probably the last day of the match.
