Thanks to Imran Tahir and Chris Morris, South Africa restricted Afghanistan for 125. In reply, South Africa batsman Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla forged a partnership of above 100. South Africa eventually won with 9 wickets.

Both South Africa and Afghanistan are looking for their first win in the ICC Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2019. South Africa have had the worst start possible in the world cup. The Proteas have played four matches so far, out of which they have lost three and won none as their last match against West Indies was washed away due to rain.
