Sourav Ganguly after the match said, “Selectors fiddled too much with the middle order. They need to identify players and back them, give them a long rope. This is the only mistake selectors made in the last one year.” The middle order had been a major concern for the team in the tournament. There were many occasions when the top order performed but the lower order could not contribute to the match. Earlier in the game, Sourav Ganguly was furious the fact that MS Dhoni was not sent ahead of Hardik Pandya. “It's very hard to understand. No MS Dhoni yet. There you see MS Dhoni. You have got 10-and-half thousand runs. Average 50 and he is not in yet when India is under pressure. That's not acceptable. I know he is a good finisher but this is a long way from finished,” he said.
