Did you know that VVS Laxman was trying to stop Sourav Ganguly from removing his T-shirt when the latter waved it in the Lord’s balcony, after India's win in the Natwest Series final against England in 2002? In a recent interview with Gaurav Kapur – the host of a popular interview series, Breakfast with Champions – Ganguly was at his candid best.

The former Indian captain talked about the infamously famous Lord’s incident, his equations with his teammates, the then-and-now of Australian cricket team amongst many other things.

Spilling beans on the famous Lord’s incident, Ganguly said, “I was on the right side; VVS Laxman was beside me, while Bhajju (Harbhajan Singh) was standing behind me. When I started removing my shirt, VVS was quick in trying to pull it down saying ‘don’t do it, don’t do it’.”

Talking more about it, Ganguly revealed, “Harbhajan, who was standing right behind me; asked me, ‘What should I do now?’ I said, ‘You too remove it’.”

Ganguly said that the team back-then had a contradicting mix and it was fun to be a part of that team. The Prince of Kolkata said it was in the heat of the moment and I feel embarrassed about it now.
