Sourav Ganguly on MS Dhoni’s Retirement, ‘BCCI Cannot be Thankful Enough for What MS Dhoni has Done’

For a long time now, there have been speculations about MS Dhoni’s retirement. It was widely speculated that the former skipper of India would hand his boots after the CWC 2019. Questions continue to raise even until now as Dhoni is currently on a sabbatical for a few months now. Now since Ganguly has handled the reins of the BCCI, he has been asked this question quite often.

For a long time now, there have been speculations about MS Dhoni’s retirement. It was widely speculated that the former skipper of India would hand his boots after the CWC 2019. Questions continue to raise even until now as Dhoni is currently on a sabbatical for a few months now. Now since Ganguly has handled the reins of the BCCI, he has been asked this question quite often. He further said that he has been in touch with MS Dhoni and the selectors but refused to divulge more information particularly because it is about a legendary name. "I can't say this here. We have had discussions with MS Dhoni. We will leave it at that. Somebody of that stature of MS Dhoni any respect. The BCCI can't be thankful enough for what he has done to Indian cricket. I have always said it's on MS Dhoni at the moment. It's on MS Dhoni. We will address that as and when it comes. Things should remain in closed doors, especially when it comes to dealing with legendary names,” he said.

MS Dhoni was last seen in action during the match against during the CWC 2019 for the match against New Zealand where he scored a half-century. But could not save the team from a 17-run loss. Recently during an event, he was asked about a comeback to international cricket to which he said, "January tak mat puchna."
