Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah’s case of extension in the BCCI will be taken up today. Considering the pandemic of the coronavirus, it is very unlikely that they would face any objections and on the other hand, the top positions cannot be vacant without the tops bosses. The tenure of Jay Shah has already ended whereas, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly’s tenure would be on September 23rd, 2020. Yet Jay Shah continues to play his role in the BCCI. Secretary Jayesh George's contract will also end his tenure in the BCCI along with the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. Amit Shah's Son Jay Shah, Anurag Thakur's Brother Arun Singh Dhumal Get Top BCCI Posts; Netizens Call Out BJP on Twitter For 'Nepotism'.

The Cricket Association of Bengal has already given a confirmation that they have no problem with the extension, especially with the current circumstances. Aditya Verma, the secretary of CAB said that they will request the court for an extension and emphasised that the lawyers will not oppose any sort of changes in the BCCI given the situation of a pandemic.  "A figure like Ganguly is good for Indian cricket and he has had little time to settle down in his job. We will request the court to let the existing set-up continue for at least as long as the situation isn't normal. We are not looking at a time frame like one year or three years," he said to Indian Express.

The former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was the CAB chief and Shah held positions in Gujarat  Cricket Association. The two started handling the reins of the BCCI in 2019. Cricket Association of Bihar was the one which objected and filed a petition which said Shah and Ganguly should not continue holding their positions at the BCCI.
