After BCCI issued notice to former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid over conflict of interest, former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly and Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh bashed at Board of Cricket Control in India for their action. Dravid was sent a notice over conflict of Interest as he is NCA Director and vice-president of India Cements Group, which owns Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings. While Ganguly called sending such notices as a new fashion to remain in news, Harbhajan called such actions as insulting cricket legends like Dravid. In a Twitter post, former Indian opener Ganguly wrote while tagging a news story of Dravid’s notice, “New fashion in Indian cricket .....conflict of interest ....Best way to remain in news ...god help Indian cricket ......Dravid Gets Conflict of Interest Notice from BCCI Ethics Officer”. Harbhajan also expressed his opinions on Twitter by tweeting, “Really?? Don’t know where it’s heading to.. u can’t get better person thn him for Indian cricket. Sending notice to these legends is like insulting them.. cricket need their services for betterment.. yes god save Indian cricket”. The Conflict of Interest allegations against Dravid were levelled by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association member Sanjay Gupta. The notice was issued by BCCI Ethics Officer, Justice (Retd) DK Jain, issued. Such notices have also been issues to some other cricketers in the past. Ganguly was issued a conflict of interest notice for being the CAB president as well as the mentor for IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. VVS Laxman was issued similar notice for his roles as Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) member and mentor of IPL franchisee Sunrisers Hyderabad. Likewise, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was issued a notice for being Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) member and icon of Mumbai Indians.
