Dhawan faced a thumb injury during India’s second match at World Cup 2019, after hitting a knock of 117 against Australia. Dhawan had to leave the tournament mid-way and Rishabh Pant replaced him in the squad, while KL Rahul was promoted as an opener. After recovering from injury, Dhawan picked up at for the first time and made a video of bottle cap challenge. Later he was also seen engaging in horse-riding. He shared the video of the same on his Instagram account.
Meanwhile, India’s tour of West Indies 2019 will begin on August 3, 2019. The T20I series will be played first, followed by three-match ODI and two-match Test series. MS Dhoni has made himself unavailable for the tour due to which Rishabh Pant is selected as the primary wicket-keeper during the tour. Virat Kohli will be the captain in all the three series.
