Shikhar Dhawan to Be Drafted in Mumbai Indians Squad for IPL 2019 As Indian Cricket Team Opener Is Unhappy With Sunrisers Hyderabad
Shikhar Dhawan, as per the report, wanted to be retained as the number one or two player with a higher price tag though he was let go by the franchise only to be bought back using RTM card for Rs 5.2 crore.
If a report in Mumbai Mirror is to be believed, Indian cricket team opener Shikhar Dhawan is reportedly unhappy with his current Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Dhawan reportedly could leave SRH camp for the upcoming IPL season. The left-hander is likely to join Mumbai Indians, though as of now it remains a mere speculation. At the 2018 auction, Dhawan was bought back by Sunrisers using the Right to Match (RTM) card. It is reported that he had an argument with head coach Tom Moody last season. Apart from it, the opener is not happy with his price tag as well. Can Shikhar Dhawan Surpass Virat Kohli & Viv Richards During India vs West Indies 2018 ODI Series?
Dhawan, as per the report, wanted to be retained as the number one or two player with a higher price tag though he was let go by the franchise only to be bought back using RTM card for Rs 5.2 crore. Dhawan’s Indian cricket teammates like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Suresh Raina, and Rishabh Pant drew a higher amount than the SRH opener and that might have irked him.
Meanwhile, an SRH official said that the team willing to trade-off a few players if there is a good deal in place. "That's right. If we get a couple of good players as a trade-off, we're open to it," a top Sunrisers official was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror. Dhawan is known to share a good bond with Rohit Sharma and that could make things easier for the left-hander. Meanwhile, the IPL trading window is currently open and is scheduled to close a week before the IPL auction. Mumbai Indians have already made use of the trading window and have bought Quinton de Kock from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 2.8 crores. It will be interesting to see whether Dhawan leaves SRH for Mumbai or not.
