Pakistan cricketer Hasan Ali's soon-to-be father-in-law Liaquat Ali has created controversy by calling himself a descendant of Indian God Rama and Krishna. The Pakistan pacer is going to marry an Indian girl, Shamia Arzoo from Haryana. The marriage is said to be held in Dubai. But an old Shamia’s father Liaquat Ali, while speaking to News 18 in 2017, mentioned he is a descendant of Lord Rama and Krishna. Ali had said that Muslims of Mewat region of Dahangal gotra are descendants of Raghuvanshi while Chhiraklot gotra are descendants of Yaduvanshi. Raghuvanshi is associated with Lord Rama while Yaduvanshi is associated with Lord Krishna. His comments had created an argument in media that time with a controversial debate if Meo (Mev) Muslims are descendants of Lord Rama or Krishna. Liaquat Ali is a former Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BPDO) while his daughter Shamia is currently working as a flight engineer in Emirates Airlines. She has a B.Tech (aeronautical) degree from Manav Rachna University of Haryana. Meanwhile, Hasan Ali and Shamia Arzoo will marry each other in Dubai on August 20. According to reports, the wedding ceremony will be held at the Atlantis Palm Hotel of Dubai. Shamia’s father Liaquat Ali earlier informed that ten family members will depart for the United Arab Emirates on August 17.
Ali is not the first Pakistani cricketer to marry an Indian girl. Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik married Indian shuttler Sania Mirza back in 2010. Also, former Pakistan cricketers Zaheer Abbas' and Mohsin Hasan Khan’s wives are Indians.
