Bangladesh have started the two-match Test series against India on backfoot as they got defeated in the first Test by a massive margin of 280 runs. Bangladesh were competitive in the first two sessions of the match, as they brought down India to 144/6 at one point of time. But since then they have been outplayed by Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja first and then Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill. Coming into the series from the high of winning their first Test series in Pakistan, the loss was enough to demoralise the Tigers. They now have only one more opportunity to take something away from the Test series. Amidst this, report from Cricbuzz have suggested that star all-rounder Shakib al Hasan is doubtful for the second Test match. When is India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test 2024? "We are heading to Kanpur tomorrow (Tuesday) and today is a day off. We will have two sessions afterwards and we will judge after that (regarding Shakib's availability in second Test) and we don't want to make a decision yet," Hannan Sarkar, member of the BCB's selection panel, told reporters at Chennai on Monday. These two days, the physio has kept him under observation. When we get back to the ground, we will get the physio's feedback. We have to think before picking Shakib for the next match and there is time before the next match. We will see what condition he is in," he said. Shakib Al Hasan Playing IND vs BAN 1st Test 2024 With Discomfort in Spinning Finger and Shoulder, Reveals Murali Kartik.

Shakib bowled a total of 21 overs over both innings. When asked about why the star all-rounder was bowled less during the first innings, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto refuted any injury concerns for Shakib leading to his decision to underbowl him. Meanwhile, Hannan said, "You can't say it's an injury. The discomfort he felt in that finger was not there before the match. He felt that when he started to bowl," he said.
