A couple of days ago, Pakistani batsman, Shahid Afridi posted a couple of pictures where he was seen feeding a deer with a bottle. In the other one, his daughter is seen striking a boom-boom pose with a lion in the background at his house in Karachi. Given the fact that the animals’ live in the jungle and not the house the cricketer got trolled for the same.

Afridi shared the tweet with a caption, “Best feeling in the world to have my daughter copy my wicket taking celebrations. And yes don’t forget to take care of animals, they too deserve our love and care,” said the tweet.”

The pictures sparked a debate about how right it was to keep these animals in the house. People labelled the cricketer as barbaric and inhuman to confide the lion at home. Check out a few tweets.

“You didn't understand he is asking people to generously feed animals during Ramzan so they can slaughter them later n enjoy a big feast later,” read a post.

A Twitterati wrote, “Exactly that's what i thought Lion is a wild habitant and it can never be friendly to humans He will go by his basic instinct. And can give lethal and life threating injuries ... To its masters even Hope khan lala realised this soon and let it go to its own. World.”

“Yes it will always be a predator but it has a right to roam freely or at least in a wildlife sanctuary. Often animals in captivity cannot be rehabilitated to the wild,” read a post.

Shahid Afridi last featured in the World Playing XI side which played against West Indies at the Lord’s stadium. He led the side in absence of Eoin Morgan and was played to contribute to the generating funds for the refurbishment of five cricket stadiums in the Caribbean which were damaged by the hurricane.
