Shahid Afridi Takes a Sly Dig at BCCI & Indian Cricket; Says, 'They Threaten Players to Not Play in Other Leagues'

The Pulwama attack has shaken the country and there have been cricketers demanding a ban on the match against Pakistan in the World Cup 2019. The match is supposed to happen on June 16, 2019, in Manchester. Also, IMG Reliance pulled out from the Pakistan Super League 2019 as producers. This move surely did not go down well with Shahid Afridi who represents Multan Sultan in the PSL 2019 and in his interviews had been criticising the Indians. “Many things have been tried by them, they threaten players by saying that if you play in the PSL then you won't be invited for our league. I play in overseas leagues and meet foreign players and I am stunned to hear what kind of thoughts those people have,” he said. The statement was tweeted by a famous journalist in Pakistan. Prior to this, he had labelled IMG Reliance as uneducated people for pulling out of the PSL 2019 tournament midway. Meanwhile, Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar condemned the Pulwama attack and said that India has every reason to pull away from the World Cup 2019. He also said that the BCCI is interested in organising the bilateral series but the Indian government turns down the offer every time.
